Park officials say a potentially rabid fox is to blame for the closure of a state park on one of its most popular weekends.
The fox apparently had several recent encounters with people visiting Double Trouble State Park.
This is the second animal encounter in a week to force the closure of state land.
More than 100 dead vultures were recently discovered along the Sussex Branch Trail in Lafayette.
The last week of August is supposed to be one of the busiest for New Jersey's parks, as visitors try to enjoy one final adventure in the outdoors before school begins.
