Police in Passaic County are investigating a possible drowning.
They say someone went into the water at the Great Notch Reservoir in Woodland Park on Saturday but did not come back to the surface.
Woodland Park Mayor Keith Kazmar told News 12 New Jersey the active investigation involved the potential drowning of a 15-year-old boy.
Police, the fire department, as well as West Paterson volunteers, were on the scene.
Authorities from Paterson, Clifton, Hawthorne, Wayne, the Passaic County's sheriff office and a state police helicopter also searched the area.
The search was suspended because there was no light and will resume Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
