Many people may not realize that the beginning of baseball took shape in the 1800s right in New Jersey.
Hoboken was recording early baseball games even before Cooperstown.
News 12’s Roxanne Evans took a look at this history.
And for those who want to catch a vintage baseball game in real-time – the 1859 Hoboken Baseball Club will take on the Hoboken Redwings on Saturday, Nov. 4 at noon. More information can be found on the Hoboken Historical Museum’s website.
