How many of your neighbors do you know, really know?
At a garage sale this past summer, News 12 New Jersey's Brian Donohue found himself deep in conversation with a neighbor he had lived near for 20 years - yet never sat down and had a real conversation with. He realized then that he has done a fairly lousy job over the years of getting to know them better.
Invoking the spirit of the late Fred Rogers of “Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood” - yes, he bought the sweater - Donohue sets out to right that wrong by interviewing the people who live closest to him about their seemingly ordinary, but often extraordinary lives.
He starts with the man whose garage sale he was at that day last summer, Henry Tindal Jr., a longtime advocate for disenfranchised youth, foster parent, chef, TV host and one-half of the first same-sex couple in New Jersey to legally adopt a child.
