Heads up, ice cream lovers! Bischoff’s Confectionary reopened Friday in Teaneck.
This comes as a nice surprise for loyal customers who saw the ice cream parlor close in December due to financial struggles.
Doors reopened at 11 a.m. for those wanting to start their Friday with some ice cream. The ice cream shop had been open for 89 years on Cedar Lane in Teaneck before the Mather family was forced to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But thanks to some friends of the store and an investor, they’re reopening on a limited basis from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
“Everybody in Teaneck who lined up in December for three hours to get their last couple of scoops of ice cream can actually have another summer’s worth at the very least,” said Steven Mather, owner of Bischoff’s Confectionary.
Bischoff’s will be open Wednesday through Sunday. They hope to raise enough money to stay open for good.
