(06/16/06) FAR HILLS ? Two bridge projects in Somerset County will force drivers to go through a bit of a shuffle in their commutes.
Work will begin Monday on projects to replace the Peapack Road Bridge and the old Dutch Road bridge. Both structures serve as major connectors to routes 206 and 202. The new bridges will be wider and will have expanded shoulders for pedestrians and bicyclists.
Police say construction will close the roads for about 130 days. Commuters who use County Road 512 to get to Route 202 will have to come up with a new route. Some residents say the update is long overdue, but others say the work is going to cause a traffic nightmare.
