Police warn of aggressive fox after multiple altercations with dogs

Police in Hopatcong are warning residents of an aggressive fox in town following two separate altercations with the animal, and their dogs.
The reported altercations happened on Evergreen Avenue and Mohawk Avenue.
During the first altercation, a man was walking his dog when it started to bark at a fox in the bushes.
The fox became aggressive and tried to circle the dog, but the owner kicked the fox to get it away from his dog.
Another man was walking his dog in the same area when the fox became aggressive with his dog. This man kicked the fox twice, and the animal left.
According to police, the animal has also been spotted on Huron Terrace and Oneida Avenue.
Anyone who sees the fox is told not to approach it, and instead call police at 973-398-5000.
