A 13-year-old riding a bicycle was hit by a deer that had been struck by a car in Hackettstown.
Police say it happened on Willow Grove Street between Hackettstown Medical Center and senior housing apartments.
Police say a deer ran into the road, was struck by a car and then hit the teen.
The bike was damaged, but the teen only suffered minor injuries.
Officials advise to slow down if you see a deer on or near the road, to watch for deer crossing signs and to use your high beams at night. They also say it's important not to swerve to avoid hitting a deer because of the chance that you may hit something else.
