A Perth Amboy officer was shot in Rahway on Wednesday, a police source confirmed to News 12.
Police say it happened on Broad Street just before 9 p.m.
The police source said the officer was conducting surveillance on a vehicle when the suspect opened fire on officers from Rahway and Perth Amboy.
The officer was transported to RWJ New Brunswick and is in serious condition, according to officials.
