Police: Sinkhole caused by water main break causes traffic issues in South Brunswick

UPDATE: The two water main breaks in South Brunswick have been repaired, officials say.

A large sinkhole caused by a water main break is causing some traffic issues in South Brunswick.
The sinkhole is on Route 522. The eastbound lanes are closed between Stouts Lane and New Road due to the damage. Crews from South Brunswick Water and Sewer are working on repairs.
Police are telling the public to avoid the area while repairs are being made. Only the local traffic for CIL Woods and Cambridge Cross will be allowed through.
Officials say that the repairs could take up to eight hours to complete.
A second water main break on Route 1 North by Dow Jones is also causing some issues. Police have closed off the shoulder of the highway in the area while crews work on repairs at that location.
