Jersey City police say a 16-year-old has been arrested for shooting a 14-year-old Thursday night.
Police say the shooting happened just before 9:30 p.m. near Armstrong Avenue and MLK Drive. Authorities say that the 14-year-old was shot in the left thigh. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.
The 16-year-old was arrested a few minutes later after a brief foot chase, according to police. He faces several charges.
Jersey City police say that a separate shooting incident occurred in the city Thursday night as well. Four people were hurt in that incident.
Police say the shooting happened around 10:10 p.m. near Bergen and Virginia avenues. Police say that the four victims were taken to the hospital in a private car. The victims were a 36-year-old woman who was shot in the neck, a 21-year-old man shot in the right flank, a 33-year-old man shot in the upper torso and an 18-year-old man shot in the chest. The 33-year-old and 18-year-old are in the intensive care unit, according to officials.
No arrests have been made in that incident.
