Animal cruelty investigators are offering a monetary reward for information leading to an arrest after a dog was sodomized and nearly killed in Newark.The Associated Humane Societies (AHS) rushed to stabilize a dog after it was sodomized by someone at Seth Boyden Terrace apartments. The pit bull mix, now being called Kate, was taken to the Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls. AHS Assistant Executive Director Terrence Clark says Kate was bleeding badly when she was brought in. She is now recovering with medication and specialty care.Meanwhile, fliers have been posted all over the Newark complex offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Since Kate?s story was published online, AHS says it has received calls and e-mails from dog lovers as far away as Hawaii and Iraq offering to increase the reward money and pay the dog's veterinary bills.
