A 10-year-old girl who went missing from Newport Centre mall last week has been found safe, according to Jersey City officials.

Police say surveillance video showed the girl walking toward Newport Parkway with an unknown male on Thursday evening. This sparked a major search around the city to find her.

Jersey City officials say that the girl was found around 1 p.m. on Monday, thanks to a citizen's tip. They say that she was found at the Salem-Lafayette apartment complex in good health.

Further details about the girl’s disappearance were not provided.

Officials say that EMTs were dispatched to check on Anwanyu as a precaution.
