Police say they received a call from someone claiming there was a bomb at the Freehold Raceway Mall on Route 9 in Freehold.
According to police, they received a transferred phone call Sunday around 7:30 p.m. from the neighboring Marlboro Police Department with a person on the line claiming that there was a bomb at the mall.
Officers from Freehold police and the Monmouth County sheriff were on scene, along with K-9 units from other departments searching the mall, concentrating on the food court between Macy's and Nordstrom.
Police have not released any suspect information. No explosives or suspicious items were located during the sweeps.
Police say it’s the second bomb threat surrounding the mall in three days. Investigators say Friday night, another call was received from what sounded like a child on the phone.
