Police say that a parent alerted them to a concerning post allegedly made by a Lake Riviera Middle School student.

Police: No threat found in Brick Township after student posts concerning messages on Snapchat
Brick Township police say that no threats have been found after a student posted concerning messages on Snapchat.
Police say that a parent alerted them to a concerning post allegedly made by a Lake Riviera Middle School student. The Snapchat post appeared to show a firearm.
Police say that they were able to identify the student and searched his home and that no firearms were found.
“There was no immediate danger to any student at any time. The item seen in the Snapchat was determined to be a lighter,” police wrote in a statement.
Police thanked the parent who reported the photo and urged all members of the community to report suspicious activity.
