Theodore Harris is accused of trying to eat a box of painkillers while he was being chased by State Troopers.
Prosecutors say the 58-year-old ran from police after being pulled over on I-87.
They say he also had marijuana. Harris is charged with assault, resisting arrest, and drug possession.
