The man was traveling south on Warren Grove Road when he struck a deer that ran out in front of him at around 7:30 p.m., according to authorities.
Police say the man was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center and pronounced dead.
Authorities say the Barnegat Township Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the incident.
