Police are searching for a man who they say impersonated an officer and stopped a child at a Warren County strip mall.

The incident happened on Friday between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. near Washington Square Circle on Route 57.

According to investigators, the child reported a man wearing a police officer uniform. The man also has a car with the word "police" on the side.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Washington Township Police Department.
