Police in Perth Amboy are investigating after a brutal beating captured on cellphone video Sunday night.

The graphic footage shows a young man attacked by several assailants on Brighton Avenue following the Dominican Festival. Someone is seen violently stomping on the victim's face at one point.

According to authorities, the victim was transported to an area hospital and has since been released.

Police said they are working to identify those responsible for the vicious assault. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Perth Amboy Police Department.

The investigation into the motive behind the caught-on-camera beatdown remains ongoing. No arrests have been made.
