Recent acts of vandalism have police in Jefferson Township on high alert.
Since Halloween, the town has received close to 100 complaints of vandalism. Police say that is a record pace for a town that averages 200 to 300 acts a year. According to police, there have been rock-throwing incidents, mailboxes smashed and vandalism to some township recreation areas.
Police say they are concerned because the acts of vandalism are out of the ordinary and too frequent. Even though police have stepped up patrols, the department is asking for the public?s help to report any groups of kids loitering around the community.
