The New Jersey attorney general has identified the driver involved in a deadly crash in Woodbridge earlier this month.

Police tried to pull over 18-year-old Mikael Salman, of Iselin, for speeding. But they say he took off down Route 1.

About a minute into the chase, Salman crashed into another car near Gill Lane.

A juvenile passenger in Salman’s car was killed, and people inside the other vehicle were seriously injured. A dog was also found dead inside Salman’s car.

Salman remains hospitalized and faces a number of charges.
