Hillsborough police say a homeowner stopped a break-in by scaring an intruder away without incident.
They say the homeowner was in her basement on Sunday and heard someone walking around on the floor above. She walked upstairs, and that's when the suspect fled the home without any type of altercation.
The intruder might have come in through an open garage door when it was dark, officers added.
The suspect is still at large.
