Police: Group of men steal victim’s Honda Accord at gunpoint in Newark

The victim told police that he was getting out of his car when a group of masked men approached him and demanded his keys.

Newark police are investigating an armed carjacking in the city.
Officials say it happened early Wednesday just before 5 a.m. along East Bigelow Street near Frelinghuysen Avenue.
The victim told police that he was getting out of his car when a group of masked men approached him and demanded his keys. One of the people in the group was armed with a handgun.
Police say the suspects then took off in the victim’s white, four-door Honda Accord and escaped down Frelinghuysen Avenue.
Anyone who might have information about the crime is urged to contact Newark police.
