A car crashed into the Middletown Post Office on Tuesday afternoon.
It happened around 2 p.m. at the United States Post Office building located at 1601 Route 35.
Police tell News 12 that the driver of a white sedan mistook the gas pedal for the brake pedal and accelerated into the building, crashing through the front door.
The police chief says there were people inside the building at the time, but they were not injured.
The driver of the car was also not hurt.
Crews are making sure that the building is safe.
