A 29-year-old man was arrested for allegedly trying to kill his parents inside their Hewlett Harbor home on Christmas morning.

Police say they were called to a home on Seawane Drive home around 10 a.m. That's when officers found a 64-year-old woman shot in the head and a 65-year-old man shot in the back.

Both victims were conscious and alert when they were rushed to the hospital.

Police say their investigation led them to New Jersey where the couple’s son was arrested. He has been identified by police as Dino Tomassetti, of 100 Maspeth Avenue in Brooklyn.

So far, police have not released a motive for the incident.
