Police say a Long Branch man was charged with murder after his girlfriend was found dead inside her home Sunday morning.

According to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, 33-year-old Yasenia Hernandez Osorio's body was discovered inside her Westbourne Avenue home. Police say her live-in boyfriend, Noel Montes Lopez, may be responsible for her death. Prosecutors say the couple was renting a first-floor apartment in the home.

Neighbors say the couple was fairly unknown in the community.

Authorities say Lopez was also charged with resisting arrest. Prosecutors are waiting for autopsy results to determine how Osorio died.
