Police say a BMW trying to outrun Newark police flipped and took out utility poles.
The vehicle took down some utility poles and landed in the front yard of a home on Grove Street.
Newark police say officers were attempting to pull over the driver of a Chevy Impala that was wanted in connection to a shooting investigation.
During that pursuit, the BMW, which was not being chased, attempted to outrun the police car and overturned, according to police.
Officials say the driver of the BMW ran away from the scene after the crash but was arrested shortly after. The driver was treated for injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
Police also say that the driver of the Impala was eventually found and taken into custody.
