More than $1 million worth of drugs are off the streets in Mercer County and 42 people are behind bars in connection with a suspected drug ring running out of Trenton.
Investigators say the drugs traveled from Mexico to California and then around the country, including Mercer County. According to investigators, Gregory Gibson and Corey Spruill made a fortune selling the cocaine and heroin. Officials say the men sold the drugs in an empty lot and warehouse on North Willow Street.
Over a seven-month investigation, 20 different agencies helped arrest 42 people in connection with the operation. Included in the arrests were Gibson and Spruill, as well as some of their suspected drug suppliers and customers. Officers also say they seized 44 pounds of powdered cocaine, 202 bricks of heroin, 10 weapons, nine vehicles and 42 motorcycles and ATVs.
Some of those arrested face both state and federal drug charges.
