Police: Alleged member of extremist group claims vacant home as his own

Police say a man from Los Angeles, who claimed to be a member of Sovereign Citizen, a known extremist group, has been arrested in Newark after claiming a vacant home as his own.
According to police, Hubert A John, 39, faces charges of criminal mischief, burglary, criminal trespass and terroristic threats.
Police say he and three other men moved into a vacant home last Thursday on the 100-block of Ivy Street.
The homeowner, who visited the house in preparation of making renovations, called police after the men refused to get out.
She reported four males that she did not know were claiming to have legal residency of her vacant property and had changed the locks. When she and a locksmith approached the home, they were stopped by the unknown males, who presented paperwork indicating that they held legal residency.
The men did leave, but Hubert returned -- using his key to enter the home. He was taken into custody. There were no weapons used by the suspect
