UPDATE: 7 people, including a baby and 3-year-old, injured in NJ Transit bus crash expected to be OK, police say

Several people were hurt when a New Jersey Transit bus careened into a ditch in Woodbridge.

The crash happened Tuesday evening on Port Reading Avenue. Officials say the 48 Bus Line bus had 16 passengers on board when it served off the road and ended up face down in a ditch. Officials say the bus collided with two other vehicles and finally came to rest at Prologis Pond.

Officials say seven people were hurt. The extent of their injuries was not immediately made clear.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
