Linden police say a 4-year-old boy who was struck by a car while riding his bicycle is in critical condition.

Linden police say a 4-year-old boy who was struck by a car while riding his bicycle is in critical condition.
The boy and his father were hit by a white van while crossing Route 27 at Roselle Street Thursday morning.
The accident was caught on video.
Police say they were crossing on the green light. Two cars made a left from Chestnut Street and passed in front of them when the driver of the white van struck them.
The video footage shows the driver stopping after the collision and a passerby running over.
A police vehicle was near the scene when the crash happened.
First responders quickly arrived and rushed the boy to University Hospital in Newark.
Traffic was detoured for several hours this morning as police investigated.
The father suffered minor injuries.
