A 34-year-old man was fatally shot Saturday in Newark, according to police.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office says Bashir Peebles was found at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead at 5:40 a.m. in University Hospital.

No suspects have been arrested as of Sunday morning.
