Two teenagers have been arrested for last week’s fatal shooting of 20-year-old Philip Urban, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
A 16-year-old male from Pennington and a 17-year-old male from Hopewell were taken into custody Friday at the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office. Both are charged with murder, felony murder, robbery and weapons offenses.
Authorities say the investigation revealed that two teens planned to rob Urban of a quarter-pound of marijuana for $800. It is alleged that both defendants participated in the preparation, murder and coverup.
Urban, a Post University basketball player, was lured to the gravel entry to the Hopewell Valley Nature Preserve where he was robbed of the marijuana, then shot and killed, police say.
