Paterson police are searching for the people involved in two separate shootings in the city.

One of the shootings happened around 3 a.m. near Jersey and Oliver streets. A 17-year-old boy and a 26-year-old man were killed. The 17-year-old had just graduated from high school.
Police also say that two 19-year-old men and a 24-year-old man were injured in the shooting.
The area is very industrial. Workers in the area tell News 12 New Jersey that people often come by the area at night to hang out, play loud music and drink alcohol.
Residents say this is another wake-up call for the city of Paterson, especially for the youths.
“That was devastating see a young man Died like that you know what I mean…we just looking for a change in Paterson,” says resident Shamir Pearce. “Police force should improve and everything and general this city, police department needs to come together. “
The second shooting took place on Essex and Madison Streets.

State Attorney General Matt Platkin wrote in a statement that his office will bring the perpetrators to justice. He said that his office must also continue the work to prevent and heal the trauma gun violence has brought to the community.
