An ordinance was passed at Tuesday night's Point Pleasant Beach Borough meeting to expand parking at 12 lots by Ocean Avenue.
Many visitors say the parking will only make the shore experience better.
"I think that's a great idea," says beachgoer, Nick Boczkowski. "This town is going to grow one way or the other so I think it's just going to help it out."
Some residents against the ordinance say the plan will only bring more visitors and more congestion. They also claim that the borough is catering to the Storino family, who owns large sections of the boardwalk.
The Storino family denied rumors last night that it plans to raze buildings to create more parking lots and expand the amusements on the boardwalk.
