A pizza party hosted by the mayor?s office Thursday couldn?t completely smooth over a situation regarding hundreds of teen workers who haven?t received paychecks.
Some of the teens, employed by the city?s summer jobs program, say they still haven?t received payment despite being told they would get their checks at the luncheon.
The event was organized by the mayor?s office as an apologetic gesture to teens who received late paychecks from the summer jobs program. Employees attending were each given two slices of pizza and soda as well as five round-trip bus passes to make up for the paycheck delays.
A city official said students who were not paid on Thursday needed to fill out additional paperwork and will receive their checks on Friday.
