(05/16/06) WOODBRIDGE - A tense atmosphere descended on a Woodbridge neighborhood Tuesday after two pit bulls attacked four people along Rahway Avenue.
Three children say they were attacked by the dogs while on their way home from school. Another victim, Dwayne Marcus, was also attacked when he attempted to get in between the dogs and the kids. Police shot one of the dogs twice, but it managed to flee the scene. The wounded dog later returned home and was taken by animal control. The other dog was captured shortly after the attack.
All four victims were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. It is not known if the owner of the dogs will be charged in relation to the incident.
