A 26-year-old Piscataway woman was killed Saturday morning after being struck by an SUV while outside her disabled vehicle on Interstate 287, according to New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded around 3:50 a.m. to the northbound lanes near milepost 7.2 in Piscataway.

Police said Gabrielle Barclay's Chevrolet sedan struck the rear of a Freightliner truck, leaving her car disabled in the center lane.

Barclay got out of the Chevrolet and was still in the road when a northbound Hyundai SUV struck both her and the disabled car. The Hyundai then went off the left side of the highway and struck a guardrail, police said.

Barclay was killed.

The Hyundai driver suffered minor injuries, and no other injuries were reported.
