An illegal radio station has been shut down after complaints by a local New Jersey radio station.
The pirate radio broadcast was coming from a home on East Baltimore Avenue in Linden. Linden police were first notified by the station manager at New Jersey 101.5 FM. The station had already conducted its own investigation after receiving complaints from listeners in the Union County area.
The pirate station was broadcasting on the 101.3 frequency. The FCC was contacted and the owner was told to remove the antenna from the roof or face fines and summonses.
New Jersey is one of two states where operating a pirate radio station is illegal.
