Authorities said Tuesday night that a forest fire that burned roughly 1,000 acres in New Jersey's Pine Barrens was fully contained but still burning.
New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection spokesman Larry Hajna said Tuesday that no property was damaged and no homes were in the fire's path.
The fire broke out on Monday in Woodland Township, Burlington County, and later spread in Ocean County.
Hajna said the containment effort included about a dozen wildfire trucks and four bulldozers. Local fire crews also assisted.
Officials said dry conditions and a breeze made controlling the fire challenging.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
