A Middlesex County mother is making national headlines after a photo shoot of children dressed up like characters from the television show "The Walking Dead" went viral.
Alana Hubbard, of Mother Hubbard Photography, reenacted scenes of the hit zombie show using 24 kids, including two of her own, as models. The children all ranged in ages from 3 to 7 years old.
"It was just a creative project I wanted to do for myself," Hubbard says. "I didn't think it would be this world-wide sensation."
While many praised the photos and the reenactments, there were some who felt the imagery was too violent, especially when children were involved.
Hubbard says that she doesn't agree with some of the criticism.
"The show I'm reenacting has a million child actors on it. They've even got a baby on it," she says.
Some of the parents of the children used in the photo shoot also say that they don't see what the big deal is.
"I feel [the criticizers] are hypocrites because they watch these shows every day," says parent Samantha Cromer.
Hubbard says that she won't let the haters get in the way of her art expression. She says that she plans a second "Walking Dead" photo shoot and may also do ones based on "Breaking Bead" or "Star Wars."
