Police are searching for three men, including one that posed as a cop, who were involved in an armed robbery of a home in Keyport.
According to police, a man wore a police badge around his neck to gain entry into a Second Street home. Authorities say the cop impersonator and two others then bound the man and woman inside the home with duct tape. The three men stole cash, jewelry and other items from the home. Two of the robbers were armed with guns. Police say a weapon carried by one of the robbers is usually associated with gangs.
Investigators believe the suspects may be linked to a gang in the Lakewood area. Police say the crime was not random and the robbers knew what they were looking for inside the home. Anyone with information about the robbery should call the Keyport Police Department at (732) 264-0706.
