It will be a showdown this Super Bowl Sunday in Arizona, and not only on the field between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, but also on the sidelines for one Jersey girl.
Azari Ford, a Warren County native, will cheer on the Eagles in her first-ever Super Bowl.
Azari Ford, who grew up in Phillipsburg, is a cheerleader for the Eagles and has been with the team for five seasons.
When asked how she got her start in cheerleading, Ford says, “I’ve always loved football, grew up with a big football family, and it really started when I was on dance team.”
In 2014, Ford says the Phillipsburg High School band performed at MetLife Stadium at a New York Giants game. She said after performing for the Giants during halftime, she realized she wanted to continue to dance in the future.
Ford says she hopes to get the experience of a lifetime while performing at the big game.
