A woman who filed a lawsuit against PetSmart for allegedly killing her dog during grooming is now apologizing to the pet store chain.
Danielle DiNapoli claimed that her bulldog Scruffles died in 2018 after being groomed at a PetSmart in Flemington.
But a necropsy report found that pre-existing health issues caused the dog’s death, not the store. A court ruling also found that DiNapoli knew about the health conditions, but continued to blame PetSmart for Scruffles’ death.
DiNapoli issued an apology on her “Justice for Scruffles” Facebook Page. She says that she appreciates PetSmart’s cooperation.
DiNapoli said last month that she would be shutting down the page – but as of Wednesday afternoon, it remained active.
