An outdoor theater in Madison is finally putting on a show after a violent storm badly damaged the set.
The outdoor set of The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey was hit just as it was about to begin performances. It had to cancel several shows to make repairs and has faced rainstorms almost daily.
The MainStage in Madison has been shuttered since the pandemic, making the timing worse.
"After a year-and-a-half's worth of not being able to ... make any income by performing, so this is even more brutal," said Bonnie Monte, artistic director at the theater.
Performances are finally set to begin, of two plays in repertory through early August.
