A tristate manhunt for a couple wanted in a disturbing burglary in New Jersey came to an end over the weekend in New York.
Police say Alex Yeakley and Amanda Lentz broke into a home on Cedar Street in Englewood, New Jersey, Friday night while a babysitter and young child were inside.
Authorities tell News 12 the couple helped themselves to the family’s food and belongings - even taking a shower and possibly having sexual intercourse inside the home.
Englewood police say the babysitter heard Lentz on a baby monitor in the child’s room while the baby slept and at first thought the homeowner returned. Instead, the babysitter found Lentz inside.
Authorities say the suspects took off in the victim’s Lincoln Navigator and left their own car behind while the babysitter called for help.
Police say they used GPS tracking from an iPhone the couple stole to find the pair 50 miles away in Blooming Grove.
Officials say the suspects are from Pennsylvania and don't know why they were in New Jersey or New York.
Yeakley and Lentz are being held in Orange County Jail.
Police say they face criminal charges in both New York and New Jersey.
