Pedestrian seriously injured in East Farmingdale hit-and-run; suspect sought

According to police, a white sedan traveling eastbound on Main Street turned right onto southbound Route 110 and struck a man, who was crossing Route 110 from Great Neck Road toward Main Street, at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a man who was on the side of the road on Route 110 in East Farmingdale.  
According to police, a white sedan traveling eastbound on Main Street turned right onto southbound Route 110 and struck a man, who was crossing Route 110 from Great Neck Road toward Main Street, at 9 p.m. Wednesday. The driver fled, continuing southbound on Route 110.  
The pedestrian, identified by police as Benedicto Lopez-Ramirez, 41, of Farmingdale, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.  
Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
