A fatal hit-and-run is under investigation in Newark, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.
Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Fennelly confirmed that a man was hit and killed Wednesday by a vehicle on Rose Street.
The driver of the vehicle involved did not remain at the scene.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Task Force is investigating.
No additional information was available about the incident.
