When Phoebe first arrived at Associated Human Societies, she was in pretty rough shape, but you'd never know how much she's endured by looking at her today.
Phoebe, a 2-year-old shepherd/pittie mix, was emaciated and suffering from a broken leg due to a hit-and-run accident hen volunteers first met her. Since then, she's not only recovered, but she's thriving.
"We fixed her leg with a surgery/several months in foster care - you wouldn't even know it was broken with the way she runs! She tops out at 12 miles per hour on the treadmills," the shelter says.
Phoebe would be best suited for a home with older kids and teens, but she'd prefer a family in which she's the only dog.
Phoebe already knows many commands and is well-trained and crate trained. She's also fully vaccinated and spayed.
Adoption fees are $20 for the remainder of March.
