There’s a new officer in the Seaside Park Police Department, but he won’t be writing tickets or chasing suspects.
At just 3 months old, Blue, the newest member of the force, is the department’s official Chief Happiness Officer. A French bulldog, Blue has a very specific assignment: to make people smile, one tail wag at a time.
“Blue specializes in car rides, hugs and napping,” the department wrote on Facebook.
The four-legged officer can sometimes be seen around town with his partner, Sgt. AJ Mantz, but there’s a little more to his job as well, the police department said.
“He occasionally attends events and patrols headquarters.”
